How To Get Here
Bequia island can be reached from Europe, the USA, and Canada via one of
six Caribbean gateways: Barbados, St Lucia, Martinique, Grenada, Puerto Rico and
Trinidad. Barbados provides more daily connecting flights to Bequia and St Vincent
than any other gateway airport.
Pack essentials in your carry-on in case you have a quick connection
and your luggage has to follow on the next day’s flight. If that happens
we will bring your luggage to the house as soon as it arrives in Bequia.
From the UK, Europe or North America, you might find it easiest to take
a direct or connecting flight to Barbados, and then a connection by air for the 45
minute flight to Bequia. Flights to Bequia are made with SVG Air, part of the
Grenadine Air Alliance. Alternatively, you can fly onward from Barbados to St Vincent
with either LIAT or Caribbean Star. Flights are less than 45 minutes. From St Vincent
it is only an hour’s ferry ride to Bequia. Take us up on our
offer of a private charter.
When you arrive in Barbados, you will be in transit and you
won’t have to worry about your luggage, immigration or customs. If you are on
our All-Inclusive Rate plan, our agent will meet you and take you to the
In Transit check-in located just inside the Arrival Terminal Building.
Another convenient gateway from North America is San Juan, Puerto Rico.
LIAT operates flights direct to St Vincent. Once again, it is only an hour’s
ferry ride to Bequia.
From most points of departure in the USA and Europe, you won’t
have a problem getting to and from Bequia in one travel day. When booking your
flights, please remember that you must arrive in Barbados before 4p.m. as night
landings are not permitted at the Bequia airport.
Please note: airline operators can and do change flights,
departure and/or arrival airports at will, and therefore the information on this page
is subject to change without notice. Also note that many airlines only provide a
seasonal service, so check with your carrier or travel agent for details.

From St Vincent (Bequia Ferry)
If you fly into St Vincent, you will probably choose to travel to Bequia by
ferry. A ferry service operates between Port Elizabeth, Bequia and Kingstown,
St Vincent. Sailing time is 1 hour and they run several times a day.
After arriving at the airport in St Vincent, visitors should take a taxi
(approx US$10) to the Ferry Dock (officially known as the Grenadines Wharf)
in Kingstown to catch the ferry to Bequia — either the Admiral I or II
(yellow and white) or the Bequia Express I or II (orange and white). If your
schedule is tight, tell your taxi driver!
Pay for your ticket on board. Fares are EC$20 one way, and EC$35 return (any
time — if you travel both ways with the same ferry company). US dollars will
be accepted by both taxis and ferries at US$ 2.60 to EC$ 1.00. (see the FAQ for more information on currencies
and exchange rates).
The ferries — all of which offer snack and drinks bar and a choice of
interior air-conditioned seating, or outside benches for the best view — are
frequent on weekdays, but less so at weekends. Cancellations may occasionally occur
at short notice. Schedules can be subject to change at short notice, so it’s
sensible to check with the ferry companies or the Bequia Tourism Association before planning
your journey — especially if you have a plane to catch! Call or click on the
